What is #Act4New? While the whole planet is affected by the Covid-19 epidemic and no sector of activity is spared, remain the issues of post-lockdown and possible new waves of contamination.
Digital technology appears to be a lever, through the innovations it brings and the uses it enables, to prepare and organise the post-confinement period, prevent new waves of contamination and participate in the post-crisis recovery.
To respond to these major challenges for our societies, Syntec Numérique and its partners are organising the #Act4New initiative, divided into two phases:
1- The ideathon an appeal to the goodwill of all to collect ideas from around the world, helping identifing potential problems we will face after the crisis All those who feel concerned can submit one or more ideas in various fields: education, health, economy, art and culture, solidarity, etc...
2- The hackathon to rapidly develop and materialize operational and technological solutions from the ideas identified in the first phase.
During this ideathon/hackathon, innovators, experts and professionals will have the opportunity to consider, collaborate and materialize technological solutions that will concretely impact citizens’ daily life .
If you have one or more ideas and/or you are willing to develop a digital solution that will contribute to change, then join #Act4New. Creating tomorrow's world starts today!I'm in
How to move around during the Covid-19 crisis? What solutions for companies?
What client relationships look like during Covid-19 crisis context?
How to facilitate professional retraining or training of workers partially unemployed?
Professional life and education at home: which services? How can digital technology accommodate both?
Short circuits and perishable products? How can digital technology play a role in supporting this economy?
How to make telework sustainable, efficient, creating links and value in the long term?
How can digital technology help to enforce social distancing recommendations during post-lockdown period?
Anyone with a good idea, from committed citizens to startups, administrations, health institutions, associations, ...
We count on you to provide ideas that will improve everyone's daily life!
You are technicians, programmers, web designers, you have a creative spirit and you like to solve issues with concrete solutions. Check the box of ideas to implement or prototype appropriate technological solutions during the hackathon. Startups who would like to propose existing products or solutions adapted to the post-crisis context can also participate.
In order to support the innovators and development teams, we need experts and opinion leaders from all fields (sociology, finance, economy, medicine, transport, art,...).

The Act4New idathon/hackathon runs from Wednesday, April 30 to Sunday, May 17, 2020, a period of eighteen (18) days. Act4New will take place in two phases First phase is the ideation. It will take place from April 30 to May 5 2020. During this phase, you can register and propose your idea directly on the website. After this phase, there will be brainstorming sessions to frame the ideas with the experts teams on May 6 and 7 2020. Then, we will then put on line the selected ideas at the end of this session. The second phase is the hackathon. Registrations will last from May 8 to 15 2020 at noon. Participants will have five days to consult the box of ideas and choose the one(s) they intend to prototype or implement. Participants will gather into teams to transform the idea into an operational technological solution. This phase of prototyping and team coaching will start from Friday 15 May at 22:00 (GMT+1), and will end on Sunday May 17 2020 at 10:00 (GMT+1). The Act4New initiative will be closed on Sunday May 17 with an online evaluation and results communication ceremony.
Our ideathon/hackathon will take place exclusively online. The necessary tools will be put in place to allow the teams to work together and participate in the results presentation ceremony. These tools will be communicated in due time to the participants.
For the ideathon phase, each idea has to be carried by one person. For the hackathon phase, a team must be composed of a minimum of three (3) and a maximum of seven (7) members, with a minimum of two (2) technical profiles per team.
For the ideathon phase, there are no prerequisites, everyone is invited to participate. For the hackathon phase, programming skills are required. The development team will need to be composed of developers, designers, graphic designers, etc... in order to maximize the success of the prototypes that will be developed.
For the ideathon phase, you do not need to be part of a team, as participants will register individually. For the hackathon phase, you need to be part of a multidisciplinary team. A team leader will need to be appointed in order to register the team and to provide the necessary information for the hackathon to run smoothly.
Only one idea can be submitted per registration.
For the ideathon phase, a team of experts will help the selected innovators to develop and structure their ideas so that they can be more easily "prototyped" by the development teams. For the hackathon phase, coaches and technical experts will guide and support the teams.
If several employees of the same company/organisation wish to participate in this initiative, please do not hesitate to inform us via the "Contact us" form.
The final objective of this hackathon will be to present operational solutions (concrete impact and rapid deployment) in order to improve the daily life of citizens in the context of the Covid-19 pandemic.
